NAPEF Awards 2018-2019 Dues Scholarships
Two scholarships were awarded for the 2018-2019 membership year.
Alice Levis, RP is a member at large of the North Carolina State Association of Parliamentarians. She is employed with Bayer CropScience. Alice served on the 2017 NAP Convention Signs and Posters Committee, on the Nebraska board of directors and publicity committee as well as a judge at an FBLA conference.
"My parliamentary journey began in high school by competing in parliamentary procedure team events with the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). My local team consistently placed first at our state competition and our state team was always in the top four at the national competition. I also joined NAP during that time. During the 14 years of my NAP involvement, I’ve helped give presentations on parliamentary procedures to diverse groups, attended various conferences, and received RP credentials. I have also served as a judge for the national parliamentary procedures team event for FBLA. I hope to continue to serve as a judge for student organizations and to assist organizations in the Raleigh-Durham region of North Carolina. Thank you to NAPEF for all the development opportunities and tools needed to assist others!"
Donald Garrett, PRP Don is a member of the Northern Virginia Marching and Gavel Society Unit of Parliamentarians.
"Thank you to the NAP Educational Foundation for selecting me for the 2018 Young Professional Dues Scholarship! This scholarship will allow me to continue my pursuits as a parliamentarian. The money I would have used for membership dues will now instead go towards incidental expenses for the PRC so that I can maintain my PRP credential. I am honored to represent my peers as a part of NAPEF’s vision, and hope to serve as an ambassador for this and other programs of the Foundation."
Maddie Comer: Thank you for all the time and effort you put into letting me attend the NAP Conference in September. I had an amazing time and made many unforgettable memories. One of my favorite moments was when I received my results from the membership test telling me I passed. I look forward to continue my participation in NAP and maybe even one day becoming a registered parliamentarian. The NAPEF does an amazing job at creating once in a lifetime experiences for students. Maddie Comer National Vice-President of Parliamentary Law, FCCLA
Taylor Bahr: "I would like to thank the NAP Educational Foundation for sponsoring my travel, meals, and hotel for the NAP Biennial Convention. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that would have never been possible without your support. I enjoyed connecting with both adult and youth parliamentarians from across the country, and I look forward to my future years as a parliamentarian! Once again, thank you," Taylr Bahr
Jeremy:
"It was a great honor to attend the National Association of Parliamentarians Convention. I met so many wonderful people and learned a wealth of knowledge about Parliamentary Procedure and Roberts Rules. With the help and encouragement of NAP members, I took the membership test and passed! One of the members was so generous that he paid for my membership dues for the year. I bought a new edition of Robert’s Rules and a study booklet to help me prepare to take the Registered Parliamentarians Test to help me achieve my goal of becoming a Professional Parliamentarian. I had a wonderful time at the NAP Convention and I hope I will be able to attend next year as well. This Convention deepened my understanding and love for Parliamentary Procedure. I am so thankful for this opportunity that I had and cannot thank you enough for your hospitality and generosity. I hope future SkillsUSA National Parliamentarians will have this same opportunity that I was given, Thank You.
With your help, the NAPEF will be able to continue to support NAP's work to develop outstanding education programs and
products, encourage youth to learn and apply parliamentary procedure, and assist young professionals in continuing their study and application of parliamentary
procedure.
