2021 dues SCHOLARSHIP winners!

CONGRATULATIONS to Peter Klapes, Bryan McDowell and Cody McCain, the recipients of NAP dues scholarships sponsored by NAPEF!

Peter Klapes is the recipient of the 2020 Alice Ragona Memorial Youth Scholarship from the National Association of Parliamentarians Educational Foundation (NAPEF).

Peter says, “My sincerest thanks to the Foundation for awarding me the 2020 Alice Ragona Memorial Youth Scholarship. I very much appreciate the generous honor and promise that it will go to good use, especially as I hope to do what I can to bring Parliamentary Procedure into the reach and practice of more people from a variety of organizations, locations, and stages in life.”

Bryan McDowell is the recipient of the 2020 Young Professional Dues Scholarship.

Bryan says, “I feel so very grateful to be receiving this scholarship. In 2019 I set out to learn more about parliamentary procedure and I eventually became a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP).

After CoVid-19 hit most in person learning opportunities slipped away. But I continued to do as much learning from home as I could and the resources from the NAP were so very helpful.

Looking ahead to 2021 it is my hope that life will be returning to normal. I am looking forward to meeting other members in person and taking advantage of many in person learning opportunities.”

Cody McCain, PRP, is the recipient of the 2020 Young Professional Dues Scholarship.

Cody says, “I enjoy the learning opportunities that come with being a member of NAP.  I take what I learn at unit meetings and workshops and use them to coach and judge high school parliamentary procedure competitions.

For the Nebraska State Association of Parliamentarians, I plan on continuing to serve as the state’s webmaster and continuing to update the state association’s website.”
